Growth

To be where I am you have to learn a lot of things,
To do what I've done you have to go through some things
You have to internalize life lessons and grow from your failures
Make upsets your motivation and excel at doing better

Reflections on the past shows me Ive learned some of life's lessons
While absorbing its painful blows throughout my adolescence
Ive been knocked down more times than I have fingers to count
But every fall gave me the strength to get back up & fight it out

I've learned to take things for face value & leave foolishness behind
Not everyone has my best interest at heart that's why I have to have mine

I am a duck after all so Ive learned to let things roll
Address a problem that really bothers me as it happens but harbor negative feelings, no
I've learned the difference between true friends and acquaintances 

& have managed to keep little of both
For large crowds bring drama & don't allow for much growth To have growth you must be open to all the possibilities of life
Take the strife's with smooth sailing & not think on it twice
This requires maturity & versatility to be successfully attained
And from here on out this is how I'll play life's ball game
